On December 2, 2015 the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage approved the Slovak nomination of the Bagpipe culture in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List. at its 10th session, held in Windhoek, Namibia (30.11.- 12.04.2015),  The project received a highly positive rating in all five criteria committee.

SR at the meeting was represented by Juraj Hamar, chairman of the Culture Council for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (NKD), Barbora Morongová, Director of NKD Ministry of Culture, Lubica Voľanská of the Institute of Ethnology SAS and Milan Russia, a member of the Council of State for NKD and Nobel Gajdošská culture in Slovakia .
